Actylis Debuts, Signaling the Creation of an Integrated Global Specialty Ingredients Manufacturing and Sourcing Powerhouse
In 2021, Finar was acquired by Aceto thus joining a larger global family of manufacturing and distribution sites. In an effort to create a unified global organization, we are delighted to announce today that we are changing our name to Actylis. Inspired by the Latin terms for “action and “life,” Actylis better reflects our mission to be the Partner of Choice for agile, reliable manufacturing and sourcing of ingredients and critical raw materials for the Life Science industry.
Actylis is the combination of Finar and 10 other industry specialists, creating an integrated global ingredient powerhouse, and is the culmination of an ambitious initiative launched several years ago to address the major unmet need for better and more dependable access to critical raw materials and performance ingredients essential for the manufacture of highly regulated products in the industries we serve.

We are glad to announce that Finar’s FSSC 22000 certificate has been upgraded to version 5.1 by SGS, one of the internationally recognised certification bodies. FSSC 22000 is a certification scheme for food safety management systems consisting of elements such as ISO 22000: 2018, ISO/TS22002 – 1: 2009 and additional FSSC 22000 requirement (version 5.1). Finar’s R&D Division focuses on new product development to cater to the changing & evolving needs of our valued customers. To strengthen our R&D capabilities further; we have moved to our expanded and state-of-the-art DSIR approved R&D facility. The 5500+ sqft R&D facility comprises of Chemical Research & Development, Analytical Research & Development, Scale up & Process Engineering and Developmental Quality Assurance department with more than 20 scientists overseeing development of excipients for Injectable, Solid Oral & Topical dosage forms.
The facility is equipped with all relevant advanced instruments like HPLC, GC, GCHS FTIR, Refractometer, Polarimeter, Auto-Titrator, Rotavapors, etc. The Scale Up & Process Engineering Lab is equipped with reactors with a capacity of up to 20L ensuring smooth scale-up of complex chemistry.

Mr. Amit Maheshwari, Director will assume the responsibility as Managing Director of Finar Limited w.e.f 11th March 2015. The Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Girish Maheshwari was instrumental in developing and shaping the business for the past 15 years. He was very proud and happy to hand over the reins to an able and astute person such as Mr. Amit Maheshwari to provide leadership to Finar for the future. Prantik Mukhopadhyay, a young and dynamic industry professional has joined Finar Limited as Director Sales (Laboratory Business). Before joining Finar, Mr. Mukhopadhyay was Director Sales of the Laboratory Business at Merck Millipore, a German multinational company and a world leader in life sciences. Mr. Mukhopadhyay has an industry experience of over 24 years and has held significant portfolios in the life sciences sector including laboratory chemicals, chromatography, clinical diagnostics, specialty chemicals, and laboratory instruments.
